caleb

Last night (08/26/11) Bob and I babysat for our daughter and son-in-law, we had such a good time. They went out to a party for some friends and Gramma and Grandpa got the privilege. He is such a good baby, but does hate to go to asleep for fear he will miss something. LOL. It was truly a joy for us to watch him. Grandpa watched the two granddogs and Gramma watched the baby. LOL

The parents returned and this grandma has not loss her ability to put little ones to sleep, he fell asleep in my arms and i put him to bed, it was hard because I love to hold him. He has so much
love and above all SUGAR.

And of course, the time I arrived at the house, i was a bearer of gifts, some things for Caleb for later and then of course some for now. I guess I am a sucker for my grandchildren, I spoil everyone of them. ALL NINE!!!! You dont believe me, just ask them.

The other day, my oldest daughter was here to visit with her children, her second son, had gone shopping with his mom and wanted something, she told him no, he said okay, I will ask Gramma Hayes she will get it for me. LOL AND of course Gramma came through and bought the item for him. HA HA HA

Well everyday, no matter what trials we go through we need to remember This is the Day the Lord has Made let us rejoice in it. Some days granted it is hard to do, but I just reflex on my grandchildren and indeed know this is truly the day hath made and what a blessing they all are.
We love our children, but grandchildren are indeed a blessing to ones family. I praise the Lord for all my children and their family and the family that God has given them.

Well will close for now, more things later. Bless you all!

Spending Time with Caleb

This past week, I spent time with my Daughter, Jessica and her precious son, Caleb. This grandma was so elated. We got up in the wee hours of the morning and those mornings (early)
brought several memories of getting up with my children. Caleb I think loves his Grandma and loves being held (probably of which I am guilty of spoiling him) (oops priveledge of a Grandma)
I so loved being with my daughter and seeing her in action, she is so awesome and so good with
Caleb.

Each morning before his daddy would leave, he would get tons of sugar to last him till he came home that afternoon (of course, a parent cant get too much sugar and there isnt ever too much)
I so enjoyed spending the nights and days with them. I hated for it to come to end, but I knew they must get on with there family routine and Grandma had too too. So sad, when you did not want to leave. Am so thankful I had that time with them. They are such good parents and I am so proud of them.

Caleb has wonderful parents who love him so much. One thing for sure even though he is #9
the thrill is still there as it was 9 years ago with the birth of my first.

Thank you Matt and Jessica for this time I spent with you all and with precious Caleb, those are good memories this Grandma will cherish forever.

Caleb Matthew

Yesterday in the lives of the Hayes, was a very big, big, day. We waited on the arrival of our nineth grandchild, Caleb, His mom was a real trooper all day, and even more so when she was told she would be having a C-Section to bring our precious Caleb into this world. She did great, and that goes for our wonderful son-in-law who stood by her all the way, and still cares for her
every need. He is so wonderful and we are truly blessed to have him in our family,

All Jess's brothers and sisters were here, even her twin brother who felt pain and sympathy for her JK ing, It was a truly triumphant day for the Hayes Family, for this was our baby of the family having her own baby. Such happiness and tears, but tears of joy and happiness.
Our daughter is a real trooper and will be and IS a good mom already, along with her husband who is at her side meeting everyone of her wishes and desires, God truly has blessed our family.

Caleb was born into this family weighing in at 8 lbs. 14 ozs. at 7:01 pm and was 21 inches long. He is simply gorgeous or rather handsome some would say. This grandma says gorgeous!!
I as well as the rest of the family are still in shock of the weight of the baby. Our thanks and hearts go out to two wonderful people, Dr. Stephen Smith and Nurse Pam, they were by her side and right there for her throughout the whole day. Many Many thanks to you both.

Well enough of my bragging, we are so elated and filled with so much happiness and excitement, it is hard to believe he is finally here. You can go on Face Book and see a proud father holding his son, with such happiness and gladness. This is truly the day the Lord has made, may we all rejoice in it.

God bless you all, and we appreciate all the prayers at this time, for our daughter. Thanks again

Awaiting the arrival of Caleb

Today is the day the Lord has made, may we rejoice in it and be glad!!!

As we wait on the arrival of our 9th grandchild, I reflect back on my own births in which each and everyone was so special, as I had each of my babies, I felt the love just pour out and could see the blessing from God already brought forth in my babies face. As they are all grown now, these memories still remain with me each and everyday as I pray for each one and the love they have for our precious Lord and Savior. These moments of waiting are so thrilling and exciting.

As each and every grandchild has been born into our family, it seems as though, this #9 is once again the feelings we had as the first one came into this world 9 years ago. The thrills do not stop. We await the arrival of our precious Caleb.

Well as I close this blog posting, keep my family in your prayers (all of them) we covet them in so many ways especially for this 9th grandchild as he makes his way into this world to loving and caring parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents and cousins. Bless you all this day.

Anniversay

Today is my 40th Wedding Anniversary, I have been married to this wonderful man for 40 wonderful years. And I love him just as much the day I married him, if not more. These have been wonderful years, full of lots of learning, ups and downs, but we have a solid marriage and base it on Christ being the center of our marriage. Communication is important never, never hold a grudge or back away from any problems, always, discuss open and outright. Talking is always important, never go to bed with anger in your heart, that is surely a way to drive a wedge into ones relationship.

Someone once told us, that the best way to a GOOD MARRIAGE is to keep the spice of life always involved. Your children are important, but the number one person in your life is your Mate, one day you will wake up and all your children will be gone, and the only two people in your life will be each other. Do not be strangers when that day comes.

Today is a celebration of 40 wonderful years together, I pray that God allows us to have many more. This man is very important in my life and I cannot think of not having him beside my side.

Happy Anniversary honey, I love you.

Yesterday we got see our son, James fly into Tyndall, it was so exciting, to see him, and finally see what he does for a living. He and his student, did an awesome landing. We were so excited to spend time with him and his student. He loves his job and we are so proud of him. You can go to face book and see some pictures of a proud father with his son.

We then went to a couples shower for Jessica and Matt and were overwhelmed with all the love that was showered to them. We are so thankful that our kids are so well loved by so many.
Baby Caleb will be well taken care of and loved by so many. We cant wait till he arrives so we can hold him and tell him how much he is loved and cared about.

Today is our oldest granddaughters birthday, she is nine years old, Grandpa and Grandma will be taking her out to breakfast this morning along with her two aunts. We can remember the day she was born and how thrilled we were to have our first grandchild. The love and thrills goes on as we are expecting number nine in a few weeks. SO BLESSED!!!

The Pirates

Last night we took two of our grandchildren to see African Cats, which my husband loved and he kept us posted where all the scenes were in the movie, because he has been there so MANY times. They enjoyed the movie. But the highlight of going to the movies was the premire of Pirates of the Carribbean, we arrived and Yo Ho there were real pirates on the out side of the movie theatre, joseph got his picture taken with one and Claire just stood back and was quiet, it was quite cool to see them out there.

We had loads of fun, hopeful will be attending the Pirates of the Carribbean soon. Before going to the movie we had a lovely dinner with our daughter and enjoyed a time of fun and relaxation. We have so much going on these days, that a welcome time of relaxation and fun are a wonderful.

Well enough for now will write more at a later time.

Last weekend we traveled to Atlanta for a time of fun, celebration and relaxation, we had a BALL!!
My middle daughter had a birthday celebration in Altanta along with her younger brother and his wife, and her older sister and her two daughters. It was so good to have a time of togetherness, only wish the rest of the fam could have come. But oh well, they missed a good time.

Friday upon arrival we attempted to get into a braves baseball game but after traveling through ATL by marta, we arrive when the game was 45 minutes into it. so we traveled back and grab something to eat, and then started again the next day. Upon the request of my Granddaughter Ansley, we visited the America Girl store in the ATL Mall and had a blast of course Gma purchased matching shirts for the girls to match their dolls and to make a statement that we had been there LOL

The afternoon we visited the pool and hot tub and enjoyed a time of relaxing. Ansley enjoyed swimming in the big pool with her Aunt and Uncle. She gave them a quite show we are so proud of her swimming. After a few moments of relaxation , we went back and got ready to go eat at the Cheesecake factory, which was a good time and worth the waiting. They gave a glass of pudding with a candle in it to say Happy Birthday to the birthday girl. We had a wonderful time.

The next day Sunday we went to Perimeter Church in ATL which was on the outskirts of ATL but we enjoyed a time of Fellowship and feeding on the word The minister was awesome and did a great job, everyone was so friendly there and welcomed us. After a good breakfast we all departed our separate ways and begin our journey back home with lots of memories and fun.

Birthday Boy

Today marks another birthday in the Hayes family, today is my wonderful husbands birthday. We have much planned for today, to DO NOTHING!!! LOL April is a big month in our family, we have 4 birthdays. We have so much to be thankful for. God has and continues to bless us each and every day. It is so awesome to look back on our life together so far, to see the many journeys we have made and the blessings he has bestowed on us. To think what he has in the future for us and our family is so overwhelming, I can not begin to imagine. I finished my first week of returning to work and boy it was a blow to this ole body. I thought to be ready and felt really good but oh well I survived, it was good to be back, but exhausting. Each day will get better and I will be stronger with each day. Well enough for today, hope you all have a blessed day. God be with you all.

Birthday Girl!!!

Today was a wonderful day, it was my birthday and the many wishes and the messages on my phone and face book from all were so welcomed and made me feel so good and so loved. Started off with day of getting my breakfast bought by my Supervisor, What a TREAT! Received flowers from my Son and Daughter in Law from Mississippi, got a beautiful white basket of flowers arranged so pretty and made my desk look like a spring day. This evening two of daughters and one of my son-in-laws took me to the restaurant of my choice. We enjoyed a good meal and good time of fellowship and fun, my husband is out of town, so the girls did not want me sitting at home by myself especially on my birthday. I received a call from my two boys and my first daughter which live out of town, and was such a treat. I do indeed have five wonderful children and four wonderful son and daughter inlaws. Today was a good day and to finish it off will head off to relax and take this day in. God bless all of you and again many thanks for all the wishes.
Today is a special day in the life this mom , and I am truly blessed!! I have so many friends and yesterday was my first day back at work and I felt so missed and was welcomed back with open arms. It is good to be back. Today is a good day and for sure it is the Day that the Lord has made. May we rejoice in it. I was taken out to eat last night and will go again tonight, I love the celebration of the birthday all week long. Well many thanks for all the wishes and the welcome backs. May God bless you today!!

My little grandson, Brian has begun his treatment once again, he is such a brave little boy, to have to have done to him that no normal four year old ever has to have. My heart breaks when my daughter sends picture of my Brian whether he be waiting for blood to be drawn or waiting for chemo, I so pray everyday that God will take this disease from him and he will be able to lead a normal life once he is over his chemo. Also brave is my daughter, it is really hard on parents to have go through this that Brian is going through. They and I too only wish we could take this from him. When you ask your child how could I help you, and his response is pray for me and hold me, your heart breaks. Please continue to pray for Brian, that he will not suffer too many side effects from this chemo. This will be a year long, a long road to haul and with Gods Grace will be over in one year, and pray that our Brian is free from this disease. Thank you for all your prayers for our daughter and her husband and our precious Brian.

Last night we went to the baseball game of my granddaughter, Natalie, and boy howdy is was a tough game, we lost 18 to 5 to another team, but the greatest play of all was when Natalie was the third baseman and the other team hit a ball and it went right toward Natalie, she scoop it up and got the player out who was running from 2nd base to 3rd, the crowd went crazy, cheering and standing and clapping. At the end of the game, Natalie was awarded the game ball for a great play on behalf of her team. What a great Night, we are so proud of Natalie!!! Way to Go Girl!!!!

Monday is the big day, that is when I go back to work, I have been very spoiled being home for 8 weeks. My pups have been too, they have been enjoying sleeping in and getting to play outside all day, Well pups this is about to come to big end, we hope to put a doggie door in and a new gate to our fence, so they will be able to go and come, while we are all at work. Tuesday is also a big day, it is my Birthday, and also my cousins birthday, we share the same day and month and were born a year apart and two hours from each other. it is a joke in the family that I was born on her birthday, but in reality, she was born on mine, LOL. In our family we have four birthdays during the month of April, two daughters, me and my husband. One of my daughters will be celebrating her big 30 birthday, and we are trying to set up something for her that will be a day to remember. Our family is aging so fast, I often think back of when my kids were little and that seems only yesterday, so all you mothers who have little children better hold on to each and every moment you have with your children before you know it, they will grown and out on their own. Well enough of remembering the past. May you all have a blessed day.

A GOOD VISIT Yesterday afternoon, my daughter in law from Mississippi popped in for a night stay with her sister and two friends. It was so good to see her and get to spend time with them, we took them to eat with other members of the family and enjoyed a time of fun and fellowship. They departed the next morning at 530 am and yes Mom got up and saw them off. And then went back to bed LOL They arrived safely and I hope they enjoy their stay and know that my door is always open to them, at any time. This evening my husband and I went to our granddaughters baseball game, her brother also plays ball, but thankfully on another night. They are both good players and remind me of the day when their Dad was playing baseball and we went to all his games. Love being a grandma on the side lines.

Well, two more weeks and I am back into the grind of daily work schedule, I am getting ready to return, but it is going to tough since I will have been home for 8 weeks, my poor pups will have a rude awakening, being left alone all day, they are use to having me home and enjoying the time.

My sweet husband returned home Saturday from a trip to Africa, it is so good to have him home again, but the time changes are hard, his body is still on the african time, and being back in the states it will take him a few days to get back to normal.

I thank all my friends and family for constant care I received while recovering from knee surgery. i covet your continued prayers for these next two weeks and when I finally return to work. i have become very lazy and love being able to relax, but am looking forward to getting back to work.

Wel may you all have a blessed day. Again thank you for all your continued prayers

Oh today was a wonderful day, i drove for the first time in 6 weeks, and what a thrill altho scarey a little bit. But it is now wonderful knowing I can easily drive and i guess it is like an old saying "you never forget how to ride a bike, nor do you forget to how to drive. For the next two weeks at home it is a good feeling to know that I can get in my car and GO. HOORAY!!!!
Well I guess the homebound lady is not homebound anymore, Yea, I love being able to drive again, but also I am so grateful to my children and many friends who were willing to come and get me and take places, and be there for me. Thanks to all.

I am continuing to do better each day. And for that I am thankful and giving all the glory to my God. Take care all - more later God bless.

Yesterday, Saturday, March 12, my daughter Dabney and I surprised Carrie and her family in their town with a visit, I have not been able to travel more than to the doctor or around town, it was so good to see her and the grand kids, and it was good to travel further than panama city. We had such a good time, my youngest daughter and her husband were also there, and we all had lunch at the Wingstop which is Matt's favorite place to eat. It was a good visit, to see my grandchildren, and see how much they are growing and maturing in fine young men and women. Of course Grandma, Dabney and Carrie and Ansley and William went to our favorite store, Target and purchase some items, of course toys for William, and Ansley.Brian and Olivia (which were asleep at home)also received gifts. We did not leave them out. Of course Grandmas also spoil their grandchildren. That is so much fun. Brian is doing well at the moment but will being his chemo over again which is more intense for Carrie and Fred. Pray for them and for Brian and his siblings. I so enjoyed the trip but was exhausted when I returned home but the exhaustion was worth it all, I enjoyed seeing everyone. Well that is all for now, take care. God bless.

Friday, March 11, 2011

Today is Friday, March 11th and I am still home bound, with the exception of my daughters getting me out to enjoy a ride somewhere. I am doing so well with my knee surgery, that I am thrilled to say in one week I can get rid of my cane, and walk on my own, which secretly I am already doing in my house, already. UH OH !!, Feels good to walk without a cane, but am still
a little nervous about getting out w/o it. Time will come, and each day I am better and better.

It is only through the prayers of my brothers and sisters in Christ, that I have done so well. My only regret is that I should have not waited for 5 years to do something about my bad arthritic knee. PTL it is over and I am on the road to recovery. I received good news I can drive in two to three weeks again and will be going back to work on April 4th oohrah!!!

Well on another note, please continue to pray for my precious Brian, my daughter found out
yesterday at his doctors appointment they are beginning all over with Brian from Square 1 and start chemo and steroids once again. and doing them for 1 full year. Please pray for my daughter and her family as this is big set back for them. Pray for Brian for strength and to be free from any infections. Pray for well siblings as well for Brian to remain well also.

God is so good, and he has not left us yet, he is still in control each and every day we still our prayers being answered and feel his present. I lift them up to you. Thanks.

Our little newest grandson is growing within his mother womb and to know in just a few months we will meet our little caleb and welcome him into this world. Continue to pray also for Jess and Caleb and Matt. God bless.
